One of our most requested Guitar teachers; Joe Egan is a 2006 graduate of William Paterson University with a degree in Sound Engineering Arts. Playing guitar for over 25 years, Joe has performed in Asbury Park at the “Stone Pony” and in surrounding artistic areas such as Hoboken, Morristown, and Brooklyn with his Band "The Human Era" or as a solo act. His favorite genres are Rock, Classical, and Jazz. Some of his influences are well-known groups such as Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Police, Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Metallica, Tool, Radiohead, Wilco, Death Cab for Cutie, American Football, The Cure, Pat Metheny, Steely Dan, Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, Steve Morse, Michael Hedges, and Kaki King.
Joe is the owner and chief engineer/producer of Missile Silo Studios in Hopatcong, NJ. www.missilesilostudios.com He currently works with various solo artists, bands, groups, and voice over artists to get their work professionally recorded in a fun relaxed environment. Joe has taught many students who eventually make their way into his studio to produce singles, EPs, and full length albums that they are able to proudly sell at gigs and have available on all streaming platforms.
Joe has been teaching at the Music Den since 2003 and is a valued member of our team. He focuses on individual student needs for theoretical development, ear training, sight-reading, chord progressions, lead playing, composition, and songwriting. Currently, Joe is available Monday through Friday for lessons from early afternoon through the evenings. He also runs various group lesson programs such as an 8 week guitar class, ukulele class, and a "Rock Band" program to give new and/or experienced students the opportunity to work with other musicians in a band setting and perform a concert in the Theater at The Music Den at the end of the program.
