Product Description

Alesis DM5PROKITSC DM5Pro Electronic Drum Kit with Surge Cymbals

The Alesis flagship electronic drumset features the legendary sounds of the DM5 drum module. The rack-mounted, programmable sound module contains 540 percussion sounds and 21 pre-programmed drum/percussion sets and features Dynamic Articulation(tm), which ensures that sounds respond with natural dynamics and timbre-changes for the most realistic and accurate sonic response.

DM5 Pro Kit's acoustic-feeling drum pads are built around standard eight-inch mylar drum heads and acoustic-dampening foam for quiet response. When they wear out, you can replace the smooth white heads with any model you choose from any manufacturer. The heads are tunable with a standard drum key for adjustable tension and feel. The triple-flanged counterhoops are covered in a sound-reducing rubber sleeve, which further cuts acoustic noise.

SURGE Hi-Hat, Crash, and Ride cymbals are the only serious choice in cymbals for triggering electronics. Based around a true brass-alloy cymbal and coated with a clear sound-dampening layer, SURGE cymbals feel like acoustic cymbals because they share the same pedigree.

DM5 Pro Kit with SURGE Cymbals has a unique combination of superb sounds, fresh feel, and terrific touch.

    Manufacturer Description

It takes more than just designing, manufacturing and selling digital, analog, semiconductor and transducer technologies to fulfill the dreams of musicians, producers and audio engineers. It takes unforgettable musical experiences. The experiences can vary. They can be as simple as a gig at a local club recorded on an Alesis iMultiMix 8 USB, as familiar as a practice session on an Alesis DM5 Pro Kit in the basement or as memorable as that Rock Tour recorded on a tried and true Alesis ADAT.

If there’s one secret to our enduring brand and the passion it ignites in musicians, producers and engineers, it’s that we deliver these experiences, rather than merely a collection of products and services. We’re dedicated to inspiring musical creativity and developing musical experiences for all of our stakeholders – customers, employees, partners, suppliers, and the musical community at large. That’s what sets Alesis apart from the crowd and why our brand continues to be on the leading edge of professional audio and music technology.

While our products range from keyboards, synthesizers, hard disk recorders, iPod recording and playback devices, electronic drums, mixers, signal processors, effects units, amplifiers and speakers one thing remains consistent; our passion for inspiring musical creativity and innovation through new technology.

    The Alesis Story
Established in 1980, Alesis was founded on innovative semi-conductor chip technology and award winning industrial designs that allowed entry level musicians and recording artists to afford professional studio recording products that were never affordable before. With high “bang for the buck” value, Alesis introduced the world’s first professional 16 bit effects processor under $1000, the Midiverb.  Following on the heels of the Midiverb, Alesis progressed into studio quality drum machines (HR-16 and SR-16) as well as synthesizers, studio monitors and mixing consoles.

1991 proved to be the ground-breaking year for Alesis, with the introduction of the ADAT Multi-Channel Digital Tape Recorder. Before ADAT, a studio would have to invest $50,000 in order to afford a multi-track digital recorder. With ADAT, the price tag came down to $4,000, essentially allowing every home and project studio to afford digital recording. This new technology allowed any artist or musician to record studio quality recordings.

In 2001, Alesis was acquired by Jack O’Donnell, and ever-since the company has delivered more solutions and value to musicians than ever before.  Under his leadership the company ventured into producing the worlds most affordable analog mixers with built-in Digital Signal Processing (award-winning MultiMix Series Mixers), an advanced yet affordable full line of electronic percussion products (USB Pro Kit, DM5 Pro Kit, SURGE Cymbals, Performance Pad), as well as as highly innovative and adaptable computer audio interfaces and controllers (MasterControl).  Alesis is committed to delivering the most innovative and inspiring professional audio gear for musicians, producers and engineers of all levels.
