The GTM Saxophone Story:
GTM saxophones have a really special story. For the past few years the music industry
has seen a massive influx of inexpensive imported band instruments. Suddenly anyone
could buy a band instrument at a superstore or an electronics store for an unbelievable
price. But there was just one problem, the instruments were absolutely unplayable. Students
were walking into school carrying instruments that leaked, or could not stay in pitch,
or simply sounded terrible. The band teachers threw up their arms in dismay. Then, when
the students tried to get their instruments repaired, they discovered that there was no one
who would repair them. Band instrument repair shops nationwide declared,"We can't get
parts for this stuff and frankly, you cannot fix something that was made the wrong way in
the first place."
What a dilemma! There was a need for inexpensive band instruments but the instruments
that were being offered were not worth the cardboard boxes they were packaged in. For
a long time The Music Den saw this problem, and wanted to offer their customers a cost
effective student saxophone, but one that was reliable, playable, repairable, and had
quality tone. This started a massive search and soon a wide variety of instruments from
manufacturers across the world were placed into the able hands of our repair department.
They took each one apart piece by piece, and developed a deep understanding of each
one, until finally they found instruments worthy of our GTM logo. The Music Den is proud
to introduce the first fruits of our quest, the GTM AS101 and TS101 student saxophones.
Since we introduced them in 2004, hundreds of GTM saxophones have been carried
into band classrooms all over New Jersey and there has not been one complaint nor one
return. All GTM products include a 3 Year Warranty and any needed repairs can
be made by The Music Den's Professional Band Instrument Repair Shop.
